Acting Principal’s Message

   Message from Miss Speed

Acting Principal

We would like to wish Mrs Clydesdale a great time during her travels to Spain.  In her absence, I have the privilege of being Acting Principal and am looking forward to my time in this role.

Meet the Teacher Interviews

This week families have had the opportunity to attend Meet the Teacher interviews.

Meet the Teacher interviews give parents and teachers the chance to share important information with each other.

We value the opportunity to develop relationships with our families and look forward to continuing to work together to achieve the best outcomes for all of our students.

It has been great to see so many families attend the interviews and we hope you have found them as beneficial as we have.

Road Safety

As you are aware, traffic around school pick up time can be very busy. We are still seeing people attempt to drop off students in the middle of the traffic, particularly at the oval gate.

We need to work together to ensure the safety of all of our students and can do this in the following ways:

  • Using the supervised crossings to cross the road on Haflinger Ave
  • Crossing at either end of the pick up / drop off zones, rather than in the middle of the cars
  • Dropping students off in the designated areas only
  • Moving to the front of the pick up / drop off zones to allow other cars in
  • Making sure students wear helmets when riding

School Leaders

We are very lucky to have so many amazing student leaders in our school.

Our school captains have taken on their roles with great enthusiasm and confidence and are already running assembly like professionals.

At our senior assembly this week, our other student leaders were presented with their badges.

Congratulations to all our leaders! We look forward to seeing how you grow and develop your leadership skills throughout the year.

SRC

Students from Year 1 to Year 6 have been busily preparing and presenting speeches to become SRC representatives for their classes.

Well done to all the students who have been brave and presented speeches to their peers.

In each class, the students vote for who they believe will be a great SRC rep.  Votes are tallied and a representative is elected.

The role of the SRC is to be the voice for students, find out what students think and have an impact on decision making with the school.

A goal this year to give students more opportunities to express their ideas and find ways to make our school an even better place to be.

Congratulations  to our new SRC leaders! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

School Photos

School photos will be taken next week on Wednesday and Thursday.

Make sure you turn up to school with your biggest smiles and looking your best.

I still have all my school photos and love looking back on them (even if there are some questionable hairstyles!)

Have a great week!
